Course Overview:

AFP-2800 training is for fire technicians looking to learn about Notifier’s addressable panels and advanced features. Installers, testers and service technicians will find this most useful as the course gives an understanding of panel functions, hardware configurations, fault finding and advanced programming.


Training Duration:

  • 1 day: 8.00am – 4.00pm



  • $180 (ex GST) per person for 1-day training
  • Payment must be confirmed at least  2 weeks prior to the training dates via PO for account customers, or credit card



  • Understanding of fire systems
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Laptop required, WIN7 or later, with RS232 serial port or USB to Serial Adaptor


Learning Outcomes:

On completion of the course, trainees will be able to:

Day 1

  • Operate the front panel keypad
  • Navigate the service menu structure
  • Define system modular components
  • Demonstrate termination points for ancillaries
  • Interpret Notifier point and Ring addressing
  • Identify various Notifier panel and field devices
  • Clarify LOOP principles and LOOP styles
  • Understand Notifier detector and module applications
  • Add & remove devices from the loop 
  • Modify detector settings & attributes
  • Interpret, diagnose and resolve faults
  • Perform walk testing
  • Install PCI software
  • Operate PCI programming software
  • Perform upload and download of project files
  • Understand the principles of BOOLEAN logic
  • Print out or capture compensation values
  • Print out or capture configuration and history files


Instructional Method:

This course is delivered as a group instruction, PowerPoint presentation and practical demonstration. Students will have access to AFP-2800 panels and field devices during the practical exercises.
